Abrar Ahmed, is a right-arm leg-spinner who also bats right-handed. He represents Pakistan in international cricket and plays domestic cricket for Sindh.

Abrar Ahmed made his first-class debut for Sindh in the 2020-21 Quaid-e-Azam Trophy on November 6, 2020, against Southern Punjab. In his debut match, he took 1 wicket for 78 runs in the first innings and 2 wickets for 55 runs in the second innings. Sindh won the match by 4 wickets.

In the 2021-22 Quaid-e-Azam Trophy, Abrar Ahmed played a crucial role in Sindh's success. He played 6 matches, taking 43 wickets at an average of 21.95, including 5 five-wicket hauls and 1 ten-wicket haul. His best bowling figures in an innings were 6/61, and his best match figures were 11/133. He finished the tournament as the second-highest wicket-taker, behind Nauman Ali, who took 45 wickets.

Abrar Ahmed's impressive performances in the Quaid-e-Azam Trophy earned him a spot in Pakistan's Test squad for their home series against England in December 2022. He made his Test debut for Pakistan against England on December 9, 2022, in the second Test of the series at the Multan Cricket Stadium. In his debut innings, Abrar Ahmed took 7 wickets for 114 runs, becoming the 13th Pakistan bowler to take a five-wicket haul on Test debut. His victims included Ben Duckett, Ollie Pope, Joe Root, Harry Brook, Ben Stokes, Will Jacks, and Ollie Robinson. England were bowled out for 281 runs in their first innings, with Abrar Ahmed being the pick of the bowlers.

In the second innings of the Multan Test, Abrar Ahmed continued his impressive form, taking 4 wickets for 120 runs. He dismissed Zak Crawley, Ben Duckett, Joe Root, and Harry Brook. However, his efforts were not enough to prevent England from winning the match by 26 runs, as they chased down a target of 355 runs on the final day of the Test.

Abrar Ahmed finished his debut Test with match figures of 11 wickets for 234 runs, becoming only the second Pakistan bowler to take 10 or more wickets on Test debut, after Mohammad Zahid, who took 11/130 against New Zealand in 1996. Abrar Ahmed's 11 wickets were also the third-most by a bowler on Test debut, behind India's Narendra Hirwani (16/136) and Australia's Bob Massie (16/137), both of whom achieved the feat in 1988.

Abrar Ahmed's impressive debut earned him praise from cricket experts and fans around the world. After the series against England, Abrar Ahmed was selected in Pakistan's squad for their home series against New Zealand in December 2022 and January 2023. He played in the first Test of the series in Karachi, which Pakistan won by 6 wickets. In the match, Abrar Ahmed took 5 wickets, including 3 wickets in the first innings and 2 wickets in the second innings. He dismissed Tom Latham, Kane Williamson, and Henry Nicholls in the first innings, and Michael Bracewell and Ish Sodhi in the second innings.

Abrar Ahmed missed the second Test of the series against New Zealand due to a shoulder injury he sustained during training. He was replaced in the squad by left-arm spinner Nauman Ali. Pakistan went on to win the second Test by an innings and 16 runs, securing a 2-0 series victory.

In his short international career so far, Abrar Ahmed has played 3 Tests for Pakistan, taking 20 wickets at an average of 24.50, with best bowling figures of 7/114. He has taken 2 five-wicket hauls and 1 ten-wicket haul in his Test career.

Apart from his international appearances, Abrar Ahmed has also played domestic cricket for Sindh in various tournaments. In the 2022-23 Pakistan Cup, he played 5 matches for Sindh, taking 6 wickets at an average of 33.83, with best bowling figures of 3/51. Sindh finished the tournament as runners-up, losing to Khyber Pakhtunkhwa in the final.

In the 2022-23 National T20 Cup, Abrar Ahmed played 4 matches for Sindh, taking 4 wickets at an average of 27.75, with best bowling figures of 2/24. Sindh finished the tournament in fourth place, failing to qualify for the playoffs.

Abrar Ahmed has also represented Pakistan A in unofficial Test matches. In September 2022, he played 2 unofficial Tests against New Zealand A in Christchurch, taking 8 wickets at an average of 33.75, with best bowling figures of 4/72. Pakistan A lost both matches.

In his overall first-class career, Abrar Ahmed has played 15 matches, taking 76 wickets at an average of 25.56, with best bowling figures of 6/61. He has taken 8 five-wicket hauls and 2 ten-wicket hauls in his first-class career.
