Promising Rallyist Pragathi Inks Deal With Sidvin

Promising rally driver Pragathi Gowda has signed a multi-year development deal with energy sector major Sidvin ahead of the upcoming Rally Championships in Asia and Europe.

IOA chief PT Usha Says Executive Council Members Trying To Sideline Her

Indian Olympic Association (IOA) President PT Usha on Monday said that the revolting Executive Council members were trying to sideline her by their acts of defiance, including issuing termination letters to an official appointed by her.

On Friday, nine EC members had pasted a signed notice at the IOA office premises here, asking "unauthorised persons" not to enter its headquarters. The notice, which Usha termed as "arbitrary", was directed at two recently appointed officials. (PTI)

Luis Horna Fined For Breaching Rules On Betting Sponsorship

Former tennis player Luis Horna, who is now Peru's Davis Cup captain, has been fined $10,000 for promoting a betting operator, the sport's integrity agency said on Monday, according to AP reports.

Horna accepted the sanction, which also included a suspended six-month ban, the International Tennis Integrity Agency said.

Hosts Chennai Super Kings defeated Kolkata Knight Riders by seven wickets to get back to winning ways in the Indian Premier League in Chennai on Monday, according to PTI reports.

Having suffered back-to-back losses, CSK restricted Kolkata Knight Riders to a paltry 137 for 9 after opting to bowl.

Captain Ruturaj Gaikwad (67) then scored an unbeaten half-century to anchor the chase while Shivam Dube slammed 28 off 18 balls to take CSK to their third victory of the season and end KKR's winning run.

Sreenidi Deccan Held To Draw By 10-man Inter Kashi

Sreenidi Deccan Football Club were held to a 1-1 draw by Inter Kashi in the penultimate matchweek of the I-League in Kalyani on Monday, according to PTI reports.

Colombian forward David Castaneda's first half goal for Sreenidi Deccan was cancelled out by a late second half penalty by Inter Kashi's Spanish midfielder Julen Perez as both teams settled for a point each as the hosts finished the match with 10 men after Sandip Mandi's dismissal.
