Rohit Sharma: We all keep going. Obviously at some stage we had to start working with different personnel. When Rahul bhai said he was done working here. We had a fantastic time but life moves on. Gautam Gambhir, I've played with him and know what sort of mindset he comes in with. Early days but it's been a good start.

Once we lost two and a half days, when we came on day 4 we wanted to get them out as quickly as possible and see what we can do with the bat. When they got bowled out for 230, it wasn't about the runs we get but the overs we got at them. Pitch didn't have much. To make a game out of it on that pitch was a superb effort. It was a risk we were willing to take because when you're trying to bat like that, you can be bundled out for a low score. But we were ready for it even if we got bowled out for 100-150.

He's been good (talking about Akash Deep). Lot of domestic cricket he has played. When you come up through the ranks like that, there are a lot of overs in the legs. He has the quality and the skill. Good body as well - can bowl long spells. You have to make sure you prepare your bench strength.

Winning this game was important for us. Massive win for us in the context of the WTC. When we bowled them out yesterday, it was little after lunch. Rohit was keen that we needed 80 overs to bowl at them. He said even if we get bowled out for 230, it's okay. And he set the tone with the way he stepped out first ball. You get more bite with the new ball than the old ball. The more you put overspin, it's harder on this pitch because the ball doesn't leave the surface. I'm happy to settle into the rhythm. The revs I put on the ball cannot be underestimated.

I think I was just thinking what I can do for my team. The situation was different in Chennai, and different here. Every innings is important. I try my best and prepare in that manner. Was told to play the way I want to. Wanted to win this game.

Shanto: Both the Test we didn't bat well. In these conditions we need to bat well. If you look at our batters - we played 30-40 balls and got out. The way Ashwin and Jaddu batted at that time - they batted really well. That partnership cost us that game. The way Mominul batted this innings was good. And the way Miraz bowled.

Despite the rain delays and wet outfield, the hosts did their job with the bat and ball as Bangladesh had no answer to the Indian juggernaut. Cometh the hour, Cometh the Man! Jasprit Bumrah strikes again, when India needed it the most. Just before lunch, Mushfiqur Rahim tries to go over mid-on but misses and Bumrah castles his stumps. India require 95 runs to win the Test and take the series 2-0 in Kanpur. Bumrah and Ravindra Jadeja have taken 3 wickets each.

Mushfiqur Rahim has frustrated India with his cameo of 30-plus runs innings on the fifth and final day in Kanpur. India, who are playing in the extended session, want to get this done with as soon as possible and chase down the target post-lunch.

Despite 9 down, Bangladesh's most senior-most batter Mushfiqur Rahim is defiant at the crease with a handy 30 (50 balls). Bangladesh are 81 runs ahead and need Rahim to fire if they are to cross 100 runs in their second innings.

Jasprit Bumrah dismissed Taijul Islam for 0 as the left-handed batter was adjudged LBW by umpire Richard Kettleborough. Despite taking the review, the visuals showed three-reds and the batter had to walk back. India are just one wicket away from taking this Test match as the session is extended by 30 mins.

Mushfiqur Rahim is leading the charge for Bangladesh on the fifth and final Test against India. The veteran batter has played some neat drives as the lead nears 100 on a pitch that has very little to offer. Jasprit Bumrah has been brought on by India but Rahim remains defiant.

Bangladesh are 8 down now in Kanpur with Jasprit Bumrah sending back Mehidy Hasan Miraz back to the pavillion. Just a delivery outside the off-stump and Miraz pokes his bat at hit and it hits the edge and flies into Rishabh Pant's hands.

Bangladesh's lead has crossed fifty runs but are seven down in Kanpur on the fifth and final day of the Test match. R Jadeja was the wrecker-in-chief with three wickets and could be in for more against a frailing Bangladesh lower-order.

Litton Das, who was sent ahead of Shakib Al Hasan, was dismissed by Ravindra Jadeja caught by Rishabh Pant as Bangladesh went six down against India in Kanpur on Tuesday. After a positive start to the morning, the Tigers look in disarray and the hosts need four more wickets to wind up the innings.

Shadman Islam, who was Bangladesh's positive this morning, hit a loose shot as the delivery went straight into the hands of Yashasvi Jaiswal in the gully region. Sharp catch by the fielder and Bangladesh face a collapse now unless Shakib and Mushfiqur play the 'rescue act'.

Elsewhere, in Lucknow, we have Irani Cup final which has Mumbai taking on Rest Of India at the Ekana Stadium.

Just as when Bangladesh were looking well-set at the crease, post-drinks, they have lost two wickets and how. Firstly, skipper Najmul Hossain Shanto played a reverse shot off Ravindra Jadeja, with the latter having the last laugh as he castled the batter's stumps. And, Akash Deep dismissed the well-set Shadman Islam (50) as the visitors lost half their side.

Rohit introduces Akash Deep into the spell post-drinks on the fifth and final day of the 2nd IND vs BAN Test in Kanpur and the pacer nearly hands the hosts their fourth wicket. India take the review after the pacer trapped Shadman LBW but the on-field call was 'Not Out' thus the southpaw was safe.

BAN opening batter Shadman Islam has looked positive at the crease that includes two back-to-back boundaries of R Ashwin. The visitors have raced away to a lead as him along with skipper Shanto have brought up a fifty-plus partnership in Kanpur.

Shadman Islam hammered two back-to-back fours off Ravichandran Ashwin as Bangladesh look to get on with things on the fifth and final day of the 2nd IND vs BAN Test in Kanpur. The visitors' lead has now gone into double figures and will look to build up more as Shakib and Mushfiqur Rahim wait in the wings.

Bangladesh have now taken the lead in their second innings of the 2nd Test match in Kanpur. Despite losing three wickets, the visitors have skipper Najmul Hossain Shanto and Shadman Islam at the crease.

Bangladesh batters are not playing any risky shots and are looking to put the bad ball away. There is no sign of intent from the visitors whereas Indian bowlers are bowling in areas wherein it troubles the batters. Interesting session this.

Indian captain Rohit Sharma has started off with his destructive bowling pair of R Ashwin and Jasprit Bumrah in the morning session and the former has struck. Ashwin send back Mominul Haque, caught by KL Rahul in the leg slip.

Ravichandran Ashwin gets the day 5 action underway with the first over and gives away five runs. Bangladesh now trail by 21 runs with eight wickets in hand.

Action to resume soon in Kanpur where all eyes will be on the Indian team and their bowlers as they set to close out eight wickets against Bangladesh, who's only task will be, saving this Test.

India's bowling coach Morne Morkel revealed head coach Gautam Gambhir's message to Rohit Sharma & Co. on Day 4 of the second Test against Bangladesh.

"Even from GG's (Gautam Gambhir) point of view, we decided to take the game forward as fast as possible, and you need a leader from the front to do that. And Rohit has done it so many times, and again today. To go to the first ball, bang six on a surface where the bounce might be up and down, or you may not be sure how the new ball is going to play. You can also slightly go on the back foot as a bowling unit. So it was great to see the captain, leading from the front, putting in the charge," Morkel said while speaking to media on Monday.

It seems bright and sunny on day 5 of the IND vs BAN 2nd Test at Kanpur.

Bangladesh spinner Mehidy Hasan Miraz on Monday indicated that his side will not play aggressive cricket like India, and rather adopt a safety-first approach on the fifth and final day of the second Test.

“Given the current situation, we will prioritise our safety first. We will try to bat as long as possible, which will be good for us and the team,” Miraz said at the post-day media interaction.

"Playing to win requires a lot of time. If we bat and set a target, we then have to take 10 wickets again. For now, it’s essential to focus on our safety rather than just thinking about winning,” he added.

Ravindra Jadeja on taking 300 scalps in Test match cricket, "It's special when you achieve something for India. I've been playing Tests for 10 years and finally I've reached this milestone. I've done well and I'm proud of myself, and feeling happy and good."

Jadeja was particularly happy to achieve the mark because everyone used to dub him as a bowler exclusive to the white-ball formats.

“It's special and will forever remain with me. As a youngster I started with white-ball cricket and everyone used to tell me that I was a white-ball cricketer. But I worked hard with the red-ball and finally all the hard work has paid off,” said Jadeja.
