India, who won the 1st Test by 295-runs, were pegged back at Adelaide as the hosts came roaring back in the pink ball Test with a crucial 10-wicket victory to square the series.

Rohit Sharma and co have a lot of issues to clear up, especially the batting conundrum that saw the Indian skipper conjure up 9 runs in both innings. The bowling failed miserably too, as the likes of Ravichandran Ashwin and Harshit Rana, failed to muster up any pressure.

Ahead of the 3rd IND vs AUS Test at The Gabba, here are the three key player battles to look forward to -

Yashasvi Jaiswal vs Mitchell Starc:

India's young batter Yashasvi Jaiswal would like to forget the ghosts of Adelaide, where he was out first ball on the 1st day of the second Test to Mitchell Starc as the Aussie came roaring back to dismiss him. "You are bowling too slow" were the calls from Jaiswal to Starc but the veteran pacer, had his revenge at the Adelaide Oval. Now, Jaiswal will look to get the edge at The Gabba when these two sides lock horns in the Border-Gavaskar Trophy 2024-25.

Mohammed Siraj vs Travis Head:

What a sub-plot this has turned out to be - Siraj vs Head battle has taken the Australian sports media by storm. Head, who hit a blistering knock of 141 off 140 deliveries, will be roaring to go again, whereas Siraj will have his eye on getting his tails up against the Aussie batter as well as the home crowd. Despite both captains turning this 'duel' down, expect fireworks when Head and Siraj go 'head-to-head' at Brisbane, come December 14.

Rishabh Pant vs Nathan Lyon:

Indian wicketkeeper-batter Rishabh Pant has been blowing 'hot and cold' in the two matches played so far. The 27-year-old has scored 87 runs so far but returns to the very ground that he led India to victory in the 2020-21 series. However, Nathan Lyon will look avenge that defeat as the veteran spinner, who has picked up 2 wickets so far, tries to outdo the Indian batter at The Gabba.
