Welcome to the highlights of our coverage of the ICC Women's T20 World Cup 2024 warm-up game between Bangladesh and Sri Lanka in Dubai on Saturday (September 28). Enterprising Sri Lankan captain Chamari Athapaththu utilised as many as nine bowlers to successfully defend a 144-run target against Bangladesh. Asked to bat first at ICC Academy Ground, Sri Lanka scored 143/7 then restricted their Asian counterparts to 110/9.

Of the nine bowlers used, six returned with at least one scalp. In another match, Scotland stunned Pakistan by eight wickets at The Sevens Stadium.

Both teams will play their respective final warm-up matches on Monday (September 30): Scotland vs Sri Lanka and Pakistan vs Bangladesh. The tournament proper starts on October 3.

Bangladesh are placed in Group B and kick off their campaign against Scotland on October 3 afternoon. Sri Lanka are in Group A and start with a face-off against Pakistan on the evening of October 3.
