As the latest development in the escalating political row over Swati Maliwal's assault allegations against AAP chief Arvind Kejriwal's close aide Bibhav Kumar, the Aam Admi Party (AAP) on Friday termed the entire incident a conspiracy hatched by the BJP to frame Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal.

In another significant development, Delhi police as a part of their investigation, took Swati Maliwal to Arvind Kejriwal's residence to recreate the crime scene on Friday.

'Video shows a different story': Atishi rejects Maliwal's claims

Strongly refuting Swati Maiwal's claims of assault, AAP leader Atishi said, "Maliwal alleged she was brutally assaulted; video that surfaced today shows entirely different reality."

Citing a purported video believed to be from the day of the incident, Atishi further added,"Today a video has come forward from inside the drawing room of CM’s residence, which has disproved Swati Maliwal’s claims. In the video, Maliwal is sitting comfortably in the room and is threatening police officials and abusing Bhibhav Kumar. No wound is visible on her head. This video proves that Maliwal’s claims are without basis and not true.”

CM Arvind Kejriwal's aide Bibhav Kumar has given complaint to police against Swati Maliwal, Atishi continued.

Respoding to Atishi's BJP conspiracy claim, Delhi BJP chief Virendra Sachdeva said, "Atishi should be ashamed, despite being a woman, she is playing with the identity of another woman. She should be ashamed for the incident that happened with Swati Maliwal at the CM residence. This only reflects the character of Aam Aadmi Party."

Swati Maliwal assault case: New video sparks row

According to the claims going viral with a widely circulated video, a woman believed to be Maliwal got involved into an altercation with the security personnel at the Chief Minister's house, who asked her to leave the premises.

Reacting to the purported video, Swati Maliwal said, "Like every time, this time also this political hitman has started efforts to save himself. By getting his people to tweet and playing videos without any context, he thinks he can save himself by committing this crime. Who makes a video of someone being beaten up? The truth will be revealed to everyone as soon as the CCTV footage of the house and the room is checked. Fall to whatever level you can, God is watching everything. One day everyone's truth will come out in front of the world."

About Swati Maliwal's 'assault' allegation

On Monday morning, Maliwal went to the Civil Lines police station and alleged that a member of Kejriwal's personal staff "assaulted" her at the chief minister's official residence, police officials said. Police have not yet received a formal complaint.

Based on Maliwal's allegation, a FIR has been filed against Bibhav Kumar under IPC sections 354 (assault or use of criminal force on woman with intent to disrobe), 506 (criminal intimidation), 509 (word, gesture or act intended to insult the modesty of a woman) and 323 (voluntarily causing hurt). The AAP MP alleged that Bibhav Kumar, Kejriwal's aide and personal assistant, slapped her 7-8 times and repeatedly kicked her in her stomach and pelvis.
