Man Who Urinated On Woman On Air India Flight Says 'Matter Was Settled'

According to the lawyers, the woman's grievance was with respect to the adequate compensation being paid by Air India for which she raised a complaint on December 20.

In a statement, Shankar Mishra, who has been accused of urinating on a woman on an Air India flight last year, has said that the matter was settled?and compensation was paid to the elderly woman.

The statement that was released through his lawyers, read, "The WhatsApp messages between the accused and the lady clearly show that the accused had got the clothes and bags cleaned on November 28 and the same were delivered on November 30."

It further read that the woman had "clearly condoned the alleged act and displayed no intention to lodge a complaint."

According to the lawyers, the woman's grievance was with respect to the adequate compensation being paid by Air India for which she raised a complaint on December 20. The man had allegedly settled the matter with compensation being paid via PayTM on November 20 and the same was returned by the woman's daughter on December 18.?

The statement added that there was no eyewitness to the incident and the settlement reached between the parties has also been confirmed by statements of the cabin crew.

The Delhi Police on Thursday?urged the Bureau of Immigration to issue lookout circular against the man, who had allegedly urinated on his female co-passenger on an Air India flight, to prevent him from leaving the country.?

The police also said multiple teams were sent to Mumbai to nab the man but he was absconding.?

In the shocking incident, the accused, allegedly in an inebriated condition, had urinated on his co-passenger, a senior citizen in her seventies, in the business class of an Air India New York-Delhi flight on November 26 last year.
