An individual identified as Swapnil Holey was apprehended for allegedly attempting to open the emergency exit door of an Indigo flight from Nagpur to Bengaluru before it took off, according to the police. The incident occurred on September 30, at approximately 10 pm, when Holey had boarded Indigo flight 6E 6803, heading to Bengaluru from Nagpur.

As per law enforcement officials, the passenger was seated adjacent to the aircraft's emergency exit door. Prior to the flight's departure, during the crew's safety briefing to passengers, the man purportedly made an effort to open the emergency exit door. After the flight landed at Kempegowda International Airport in Bengaluru at 11.55 pm, the airline's staff escorted Holey to the police station, as confirmed by a senior police officer.

Reportedly, Holey was scheduled to catch a flight to Bangkok on October 1, as per the information provided by the police. An FIR was registered based on a complaint lodged by the airline staff, citing section 336 (Act endangering life or personal safety of others) of the Indian Penal Code in connection with the incident. Subsequently, the accused passenger was arrested but later released on bail.
