The Supreme Court is all set to pronounce the verdict on jailed former Deputy Chief Minister of Delhi and Aam Aadmi Party leader Manish Sisodia's bail plea on Monday.

The two-judge Supreme Court bench comprising Justices Sanjiv Khanna and SVN Bhatti will pronounce the verdict at 10:30 am on Monday.

Legal proceeding so far

During the last hearing on the case on October 17, the final arguments concluded with Senior Advocate Dr Abhishek Manu Singhvi representing Sisodia against the Centre. The Supreme Court had deferred its decision on the bail plea.

During a previous hearing on October 5, the top court had put forth tough questions to the central agencies investigating the Delhi liquor policy case, asking for evidence they claim to have against Sisodia.

"Where is the proof? Where is the evidence? You have to establish a chain. The money has to flow from the liquor lobby to the person. Where are the proceeds of the crime?," the Supreme Court had asked the Enforcement Directorate (ED) and the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) while hearing the bail petition.

The court had noted that "the inferences in the case against Manish Sisodia seem to be based on hearsay and will fall flat in two minutes".

Case against Sisodia

Senior AAP leader Manish Sisodia is currently under trial in corruption and money laundering cases related to scams being probed by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) and the Enforcement Directorate (ED).

The former deputy chief minister was arrested in cases related to the alleged Delhi excise policy scam, and for signing documents to facilitate the allocation of funds for development schemes for his assembly constituency. He has been in judicial custody since February.
