A 5.2 magnitude earthquake struck Kargil district in the Union Territory of Ladakh on Monday night. Officials reported no damage.

The National Centre for Seismology (NCS) indicated that the tremor occurred at 9.21 pm with an epicentre located 148 km northwest of Kargil.

The depth of the tremor was measured at 10 km below the surface. Police stated there was no immediate report of any damage.

The Union Territory of Ladakh has been undergoing intermittent snowfall since Sunday night.
