Rare East Coast Earthquake Strikes New Jersey, Rattles New York City

A rare earthquake with a magnitude of 4.7 struck near Whitehouse Station, New Jersey, causing buildings to shake in New York City and surrounding areas. Despite the tremors, there are currently no reports of significant damage.

A earthquake has struck New Jersey, causing buildings in nearby New York City and surrounding areas to shake.

According to the United States Geological Survey, the quake, with a magnitude of 4.7, originated 7km northeast of Whitehouse Station, New Jersey.

It occurred around 10:20am local time, and as of now, there are no reports of significant damage.

Earthquakes are rare events along the East Coast of the United States.
