India has been a land of warriors since centuries and even today most of us battle one common enemy but of a different nature – unhealthy bodies. While we all have our daily routines where we go for work, come back, spend time with family and during that routine we have a constant battle ongoing in our minds which is how I look and feel inside and when I can start to improve.?

Most of us want to look better, or feel fitter but we don’t want to or don’t have time for gyming and dieting is just too torturous and affects our working. As a result, we end up staying in that mental battle state and fail to improve our health. Well, there is one weapon that all of us have but we have never known how to use it and that is our nutrition and Dr Shweta Diwan is leading from the front to revolutionize this weapon for us.?

Dr. Shweta Diwan has combined the power of psychology with her knowledge of nutrition to enable her patients to achieve their fitness goals in an enjoyable journey. While she does prescribe a diet, the diet is not boring or torturous or starving, it is exciting and interesting as the diet incorporates their favorite dishes like pizza and chhole bhature while being as impactful or even more compared to traditional weight loss diets.

“My job is not to give diets for weight-loss. My job is to treat the root-cause of the ailments of my patients and help them achieve a healthy body through a journey they enjoy and can continue on their own once treatment is over. From PCOD, High-Cholesterol, Diabetes to even depression and anxiety issues, I treat a variety of ailments through a wholistic treatment plan that includes mental and physical treatments.” Dr. Shweta said while explaining her approach to work.?

Most nutritionists only prescribe a diet which is generic to aid in weight management. But for Dr. Shweta who is herself a PHD in Psychology, diet is only half of the solution. “Understanding the mind of the patient is as important as understanding their body. While we understand their body from medical reports, to understand their mind we have our own process and tests. Once we understand a patients mind and body, we design a plan specific to their need incorporating everything they love doing and eating into a healthy lifestyle they can sustain. This way, you eat and do what you love while also being fitter and heathier.” Dr. Diwan explained.
Dr. Shweta’s approach is not just practical, it is also enjoyable and the fact that the patients are gradually transitioned into a healthier lifestyle which they can continue on their own for life to avoid future ailments is the icing on the cake. Her approach to combine mental health and physical wellbeing through nutrition is not just revolutionary, it is fast becoming a trend that will change the way India sees nutrition.?
