Actor Jatin Goswami rose to fame after his stint in the Nawazuddin Siddiqui-starrer, ‘Babumoshai Bandookbaaz’ and has been part of Zee 5's ‘Sky Fire’, Hotstar's ‘The Great Indian Murder’, ‘Anek’ and Rajkumar Rao's ‘HIT: The First Case’. He was also seen in Netlfix's ‘Delhi Crime 2’.

Recently, in a conversation with Outlook, the actor talked about working on ‘Gulmohar’, the Manoj Bajpayee, Sharmila Tagore-starrer film, which was released on Disney+Hotstar. Excerpts from the interview:

What kind of responses are you getting for ‘Gulmohar’?

I have been getting good responses from audiences as well as people from Industry. Even Mira Nair praised my work after watching the film along with many other actors from the industry like Boman Irani. Also, the responses from the audiences are overwhelming. Everyone who has watched, have loved the film. It has spread through word of mouth.

How was Sharmila Tagore on the sets?

She is so warm and has her own aura on set. She makes her co actors comfortable and was very appreciative as well. She used to talk about how things were during her time in the 90s and how it has changed now. So it was an absolute learning experience working with such a legendary actress.

You have ‘Patna Shukla’ lined up, how was your experience working with Raveena Tandon?

Initially, I was quite intimidated working with a superstar like her. But she made it very easy during our first readings only. Usually, big stars with whom I've worked have always made it easier to work together.?

‘Patna Shukla’ also stars the late actor-filmmaker Satish Kaushik. How do you remember him now?

Satish sir was a mind blowing story teller. It was a wonderful experience having long conversations with him which I'll always cherish. He was so encouraging and supportive. As an outsider, getting so much encouragement from him was a great deal.

What should we expect from ‘The Great Indian Murder 2’?

Now, in the second season, there are more 3 suspects and the show is going international. Last season, when we shot in India, we covered 15 different places from Kolkata, Madras to Andaman. It was shot on a very big canvas and this time, it will be even bigger with intriguing plots. Since the investigation is about who got murdered, you will get to see many mysteries about him unfold.?

How has OTT helped you in terms of work and getting versatile roles

OTT has changed the formula of film making. I feel our industry was formula based and was not willing to take much risk on doing something out of the box. Now things are changing gradually post pandemic, as people were mostly bingeing on OTT content during the lockdown, which has improved people's taste in terms of content and story. Gone are the days of hero and heroine. Now even supporting characters have their own track and story in shows.?
