In a post on X, announcing his shift, Ali wrote, "Today there is a struggle between two forces in the country. On one side they are oppressive, corrupt, anti-poor and well-wishers of the rich. On the other hand, there are those who provide justice and employment to the poor and protect the interests of Dalits and tribals. I have chosen to side with the well-wishers of the poor."
