At just 12 years old, Rehras, a student of St. George’s College, Mussoorie, and the son of renowned travel content creators and entrepreneurs, Harjinder Singh Kukreja and Harkirat Kaur Kukreja, intertwined his deep-rooted Sikh values with the ancient wisdom of Bhutan.

Hosted by Tourism Bhutan, Bhutan’s Department of Tourism (DOT), this expedition was far from a typical sightseeing tour. Wearing gloves and carrying a bag, Rehras meticulously picked and cleaned trash along the Tiger’s Nest trail. This act of Seva (selfless service) wasn’t merely a task; it was a profound expression of respect for the environment. Each piece of litter removed by Rehras was a step towards honoring the sacred landscape, demonstrating his commitment to environmental stewardship.

Guided by the wise Tshewang Nidup, a respected figure in Bhutan’s travel industry since 1995 and the owner of Bhutan Expeditions, Rehras traversed this sacred path with a mission that transcended mere tourism. Tshewang, known for his deep understanding of Bhutan’s rich cultural and spiritual heritage, supported and guided Rehras to transform this journey into an enlightening odyssey, revealing the intricate bond between human actions and nature.

As Rehras Singh Kukreja treads softly along the ancient trail, each step is a meditation, each breath a prayer. His simple yet profound act of collecting discarded trash became a moving testament to the Sikh principle of Seva: selfless service.
