Akshay Kumar, Kiara Advani, Sonu Sood And Other Celebs 'Shaken' By Violence Against Women In Manipur

From Akshay Kumar, Kiara Advani, and Sonu Sood to Richa Chadha, several actors have called out this 'inhuman act' in Manipur against women.

A very horrific video from Manipur has gone viral where two women were seen paraded naked by a mob, dragged to a field and later they were allegedly gang-raped. The video has triggered rage and distress among the masses and they have condemned this heinous crime. People have demanded strict actions against the culprits.?

For the unversed, this incident took place in Manipur on May 4, a day after clashes broke out between the valley-majority Meitei and the hill-majority Kuki tribe?over the Meiteis' demand for Scheduled Tribes status. Reportedly, only after more than two and half months, the case was registered.?

Celebs have also condemned this shameful act. They have expressed their anger and anguish on social media. From Akshay Kumar, Kiara Advani, and Sonu Sood to Richa Chadha, several actors have called out this 'inhuman act' and demanded severe punishment for the culprits.?

Akshay Kumar is 'shaken' and 'disgusted' to see the video of violence against women in Manipur. "I hope the culprits get such a harsh punishment that no one ever thinks of doing a horrifying thing like this again," he added in his tweet.

It has also 'shaken' Kiara Advani. She tweeted, "The video of violence against women in Manipur is horrifying and has shaken me to the core. I pray the women get justice at the earliest. Those responsible must face the most SEVERE punishment they deserve."

Sonu Sood expressing his pain wrote, "Manipur video has shaken everyone’s soul. It was humanity that was paraded..not the women" and added heartbroken emojis.

Richa Chadha called it "Shameful! Horrific! Lawless!"

Sanjay Dutt also voiced his opinion as he called it 'shocking and sickening'. He added in his tweet, "My utmost hope is for the culprits to be punished with the utmost severity, sending a clear message that such despicable actions will not be tolerated in any circumstance."
